Down by the river, the arrival of the rainy season doesn’t signal hibernation — no sir. This is the time of year when we pull on our rain boots and come on out for fun and fundraising.
It’s Oktoberfest at River Market, and we aim to raise at least $5,000 for the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation at a bevy of boisterous events this month.
First up: the Royal City Chicken Party on Friday, Oct. 4. River Market’s Re-Up BBQ and Longtail Kitchen throw down a tasty selection of fried chicken. Eat ‘til you drop, and don’t forget to share. Tickets are $25 and include a beer from Copper and Theory Artisan Beer Supply Co, and you can absolutely purchase additional drinks throughout the night. Bar proceeds go to RCHF, of course. The fun starts at 7 p.m., buy tickets from Paypal.
Then on Saturday, Oct. 5, it’s Paddlewheeler Pub Night. Twenty bucks gets you a burger and a beer, wine or highball, live music by the Water Rats, 50/50 draws and more. Best of all, $10 from every ticket goes to the RCHF. Tickets can be purchased at the door or here: https://paddlewheelerforrch.eventbrite.ca.
