“The world’s favorite season is the spring.
All things seem possible in May.”
– Edwin Way Teale
It’s always fun down by the river, but things kick into a higher gear around here this month.
We’re celebrating seafood — including the kickoff of Spot Prawn season — and the opening of our newest restaurant partner, Longtail Kitchen, which will specialize in seaside Thai street food. Get details here.
We want to include you in all the fun — don’t forget to enter our Facebook contest: come up with an imaginative, alternative definition for the word Longtail, and you could win two seats at a Longtail cooking class. Like us on Facebook and enter to win.
On May 12, we celebrate the most important women in our lives (our moms). Join us for brunch at The Paddewheeler Pub, buy her a gelato at Tre Galli and go for a stroll on the Boardwalk, or plan ahead and make her some music at Music Box.
Speaking of music, there’s going to be lots of it — as well as dance, food, crafts and more — during the 11th annual DiverseCity Multicultural Festival on Saturday, May 18, presented by the Downtown New West BIA. See you here!
May is also the month when we switch to summer hours: starting May 17, look for all your favourite River Market merchants to open seven days a week, and later into the evening. (Some individual shop hours may vary. Details.)
